Sanctuary For Birth

Updates & Status...

Since we rolled out our "100 for a Grand" campaign (100 folks raising $1,000 each) in mid-2007, we have raised more than $10,000 through this fundraising program!

Here are some highlights of what many committed individuals have done to help:

-Dinner and Wine Tasting - Members of the birth community enjoyed a lovely dinner at Wine Affairs in San Jose, with delicious food cooked and served by the Sanctuary Board.

-Sun Salutes for Sanctuary - Yogis and yoginis came together to do as many Sun Salutes as they could and raised $$ for each one! A big thank-you to BABI Board member Jeanna Lurie for organizing this.

-Acupuncture and Massage - Massage therapist Tracey Silar-Lebeck and acupuncturist (and Sanctuary Board member) Kim Silsby-Richards got together to offer massage and acupuncture sessions, with proceeds donated to Sanctuary.

-World Appetizer Tasting - Friends got together to taste appetizers from around the world and contribute to a good cause

-The Mother of All Garage Sales - A weekend-long, multi-family extravaganza, with many attics and closets cleaned and proceeds going to Sanctuary

-A Triathalon - A dedicated athlete, Paula Harris, got sponsorships for every mile she completed in a triathalon

-Movie Screening - In conjunction with BABI, Sanctuary's fiscal sponsor, and SOLACE, a dedicated crew brought the new movie "The Business of Being Born" to our area for a special preview and panel discussion. Special thanks to BABI for helping put this together.

ONGOING FUNDRAISING

- The Sanctuary project is on Bringlight: We have raised more than $5,200 though our Bringlight project. When we reach $10,000, we will receive all the funds from Bringlight. Donate there today!

- See's Candy sales: An easy way to support Sanctuary. Just contact Molly and she'll set you up with supplies. Purchase some yourself for gifts or offer them to friends and community members. Sanctuary gets $3-4 for each box sold.

- Sign up for eScrip and support Sanctuary every time you shop!

- Purchase a Safeway Gift card from us (e-mail us if you would like to purchase a card; they are available in denominations of $100. YOU get the entire $100 value and Sanctuary gets $4!)
